Portland man says he still carries scars of conversion therapy

“It’s not like in year one I was sad and in year two I was happy, or in year one I was gay and in year two, I was straight,” Southwick said. “I was the same all the way through. I only became more depressed and full of self-loathing.”

    Very moving story, I must say. Why can’t they make licensing for Counsellors compulsory. Then, with the law, the ‘ex-gay’ movement will go completely belly – up. Of is the ‘freedom of religion’ in the way of letting that happen? I’m not trying to be sarcastic, just curious.
